For a project I wanted to see if you could detect beats realtime in flash. There are millions of examples with ’soundspectrum visualizers’ but none with real ‘beat’ detection. Luckely I found this post by Julapy so I wrapped it up and made a quick demo.
Analyzing at first and then using that would be a better way to go because you can then pinpoint the variations in amount of beats, which spectrum they are in, etc better and adjust visual parameters afterwards.
